Hey family,
Sorry it took so long to finally get you an email, but I can only write once a week, and that's on Tuesday (my P-day). Things have been going great! Things are extremely fast-paced here. Everything has to happen at a certain time, and the entire day is scheduled down to the minute.
The first few days were pretty crazy. I won't lie. We were herded everywhere like cattle on the first day, and the second day was just stressful. Everyone says that everything gets faster, easier and better by the second week, so we'll see how that pans out. My companion is pretty cool. No real differences between us, but I don't really expect to be best friends. His name is Elder Berett, and he is a 25 year old from California. Nothing too exciting. Anyway, my district is super awesome. There are 9 of us in the district, 8 elders, and 1 solo sister. In my room, there is me and Elder Berrett, Elder Newson, who is a recent convert and I believe to be around 19. He owns 2 businesses! He said last night that "making 5 million a year isn't that much. I can retire at 25 making that." Yeah. So he's giving me ideas of how to do that. I'm making sure to be best friends with him. haha. We're actually pretty good friends, despite the fact that he's soon to be rich. Then there is his companion, Elder Peterson. He looks like Ben Stiller. Almost identically. He denies it, and hates to be told that he looks like him, but it's so true. We tooks some pictures of him, so I'll send those when I figure out how. Anyway, Elder Peterson is actually from Tokyo. His dad is in the military, so they've been living in Tokyo for the fast few years. He doesn't know any Japanese, but he knows the culture pretty well. We ask him lots of questions. Elder Barrett and I are going to Nagoya, but Elder Newton and Elder Peterson are going to Sapporo.
Outside of my room, but still in my district, thre is Elder Allen, who is from Seattle; Elder Robbins, from Ogden, Elder Taylor from Arizona; Elder Dowdy from Kentucky, and Sister Goodale from Tennesee.
Oh, and the Branch presidency made me the District Leader. You know how much I love being the leader of something in the church . . . I sit in extra meetings every once in a while, and get in trouble for anything anyone does. I don't really like it, but I don't really have a choice in the matter.

Anyway, that's about it for me. Not too much has gone on so far, other than classes, meetings, not sleeping, and studying. Did I mention not sleeping? The beds are awful.
